Madonna Renewal Center- Freeport Il.- Mark your calendars to keep February 17 open! On Tuesday, February 17, (Mardi Gras), there will be a spaghetti dinner at the First Lutheran Church, 303 S. Galena, Freeport, Il. The event starts at 4 PM and all proceeds will go the the restoration of the Madonna Renewal Center. Tickets are available in advance or at the door the day of the dinner. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet the “Blue Nuns” and to hear more about their plans for the MRC. The Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary ( Blue nuns), have a life stimulating mission in mind for the old St. Francis hospital/school located: 1209 S. Walnut Ave, Freeport IL 61032. Their mission is to renovate and transform it into the Madonna Renewal Center. 1 16 15 300x PNG 2“The Madonna Renewal center will be a safe haven that offers hope and healing to women in need. It will consist of a 12-24 month program for young adult women and their infants. Their objective is to empower women to become self-reliant through a variety of structured curriculum that nurture their personal worth and love for children. It will aid each person to acquire self-esteem, character development, faith building, parenting skills and the development of practical life skills for employment and independent living”. This center will not only benefit the local community but will empower any adult pregnant woman in need. The Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary ( The Blue Nuns) invite you to come and join us for a wonderful evening Feb /17/2015 The menu will feature Spaghetti, Salad, Garlic Bread, Beverage and Dessert. Tickets-$6 per person, free to kids 3 years and younger. Families of 4 or more $20.
